You can find more information on the Materials order form. Once you know how many walkers you have and their sizes, please get in touch with the  Fundraising Team and they will send you some.

I want to organise a walk in my local area, but I have recently moved here and am not sure who I can ask to come. Can you help me promote the walk?

add remove
Of course! We can share your walk on our webiste for others to join, you just need to make sure you select that you would be happy for us to do this when you register.

Do I need to complete a risk assesment for my walk?

add remove
It is not necessary, but we recommend that you do. Carrying out a risk assessment is the best way to make sure you have considered and identified any potential risks. You can find the risk assesment here: www.mndassociation.org/walkriskassessment

Does it matter how far the walk is?

add remove
Not at all! Walk to d'feet's are all about raising awareness and funds in the fight against MND. No matter how short or long your walk is, you will still be making a difference.

Does my walk have to be open to the public or can I invite just my friends and family?

add remove
When you register your walk you have an option to allow others to join your walk. If you select no, you your walk will be private and won't appear on the Find a Walk page. However, you will be able to share a private link to your friends and family who will be able to create a page attached to your walk.

What is a Branch and Group walk?

add remove
Branches and groups are run by volunteers and aim to provide the best possible support to local people with MND, their families, and carers.

Some of these Branches and Groups host their own Walk to d'feet events where members come together and raise money for the Association.

If it is a Branch or Group walk, 100% of the funds will go directly back to the Branch and Group, to be used in the local community.

I attended my local Branch or Group walk and I am interested in becoming a member. How do I do this?

add remove
You can find out about joining your local Branch or Group by looking here. If you would like to join or find out more, please get in touch with the local chair.

Do we have to ask people to pay to take part?

add remove
No, it's your walk so it is up to you. But we'd recommend asking for a small fee and explain how the money raised will make a difference. You can also encourage walkers to get sponsorship.

How can you raise awareness by holding a walk to d'feet?

add remove
Encouraging everyone to wear branded Walk to d'feet tshirts is a great way to raise awareness. A sea of walkers in blue can't be missed! Promote the walk in the local area too so more people find out about your branch and MND.

Do I need to complete a risk assessment to hold a Branch and Group walk?

add remove
Yes you do. Branch and Group's are part of the Association and therefore need to follow the same rules and regulations. A Branch and Group Walk to d'feet is covered by the MND Association's Public Liability Insurance as long as certain requirements are met including completing a Risk Assessment. Another requirement is that all participants must provide emergency contact details and agree to the Walker information and public liability declaration. The Branch and Group organiser can order these forms with the other materials.

How can I raise more money at our walk?

add remove
There are plenty of ways you can increase the money raised at your walk. Such as cakes and coffees for donations or holding a raffle. Get in touch with your Regional Fundraiser for more info.
